Mind Versus Spirit In An Increasingly Changing World
It seems that the world is in the apex of exponential change. Major change doesn’t happen overnight or even over weeks or months. It happens over many years. Often major change is not recognized as such until we can measure or observe a significant difference. It seems like major changes occur exponentially. Change begins slowly, picks up speed and takes place at an increasingly faster rate. It is similar to how binomial equations appear in a graph. The line starts out level, begins slowly to curve upwards (or downwards depending on your perspective). The curve becomes steeper and steeper until it is vertical. It seems that we are currently at the leading edge of the steep part of the curve in relation to the world changes that have been and are increasingly taking place. This theory is evidenced in:
- Exponential population growth is approaching saturation in the most populated areas of the world.
- Information exchange is increasing at an increasing rate.
- Technological advancements are being made at a faster and faster rate and becoming available on a larger scale in more and more areas of the world.
- Natural resources: food, clean water, energy and even clean air are being depleted at an increasing rate.
- There are increasing numbers of economically deprived people compared to increasing wealth and power held by individuals and relatively small groups of people
- Increasing frequency and intensity of natural disasters, which threaten increasingly large groups of people
- Increasing environmental pollution and health threats that are created from greed and need.
- Mind control over increasingly large groups of people by wealthy individuals, greedy corporations and governments employing media and deception.
- Increasing division and conflict between opposing cultures and ideologies.
It seems like Mind consciousness (negative power) is growing exponentially. As the world becomes increasingly hostile and challenging, there is more and more incentive for people to choose the spiritual path. Applying natures law of balance, Spirit must grow proportionally to Mind. It seems likely that, in proportion to the changes that are taking place, Spirit will become increasing manifest in an increasing number of people. Many people will have incentive to ascend spiritually and an increasing number of souls will find their way back to God. Perhaps the prophetic “rapture” is beginning or about to begin.
When a person realizes the power of Naam (the Holy Spirit of God) and feels the joy that it brings, there is a great incentive to develop a stronger spiritual connection. It feels good beyond description. When God’s love and the joy that comes with it is realized and becomes an integral part of a person’s consciousness, becoming 100% in Naam is a very attractive goal. It seems like when a soul is 100% in Naam, the soul will spontaneously leave the physical body and ascend to God. That is unless there is a God-given purpose to stay in the physical body, for example to serve as a guardian to protect devoted souls who are still in physical form or to assist other devoted souls in their spiritual development and ascent. I would like to be 100% with God and expect that this will happen in due time, but right now it seems to be part of God’s plan for me to remain in the flesh so that I may be of service in a physical capacity. I accept my “marching orders” as a blessing and gladly give myself to Naam for it brings joy, resolve and bliss, which is not possible any other way.
People who are not realizing their spiritual core and are not moving towards Godliness can only respond to the increasing world changes with mental and physical solutions. Mental and physical responses are limited and can’t change the course of nature or consequences of karma. Philanthropists satisfy the ego’s need for recognition by giving to good causes. Conservationists work to preserve the Earth and natural resources, which in turn gives them a sense of value and identity in the physical world. Humanitarians work to reduce suffering and injustice in the world, which again gives them a sense of value and identity in the physical world. All of these efforts are noble and good, but they cannot stop the inevitable changes that are occurring. Fear of change and the unknown will drive many people to paranoia, extremism and depression. Stress and malnutrition will weaken many people to the point where their mental and physical capacity will decrease. These conditions set the stage for increased suffering and shorter life-spans. On the other hand, people who are realizing that they are souls living in physical bodies will find safety and comfort in Naam, which in turn reduces their suffering and neutralizes fear. Devotion and submission to God increases Naam exponentially. In keeping with the law of balance, as the stress increases for worldly people so does the Naam for Godly people. In other words, Godly people are protected and buffered from suffering as a matter of natural consequences. However, in order to be on this side of the phenomenon they must first consciously realize their spiritual nature and choose to prioritize spiritual growth over mental and physical satisfaction (egocentric rewards).
